From September 23rd to 27th, 2024, the charming town of Kuldīga became the vibrant stage for YES Masterclass #3, a transformative event organized by the Art Academy of Latvia. Centered around the theme “Amplifying Voices and Challenging Power,” this five-day program brought together artists from diverse backgrounds for a series of inspiring workshops, collaborations, and artistic explorations.
Set against the stunning historical and natural landscape of Kuldīga, the masterclass seamlessly blended innovation and tradition in sculpture. Through experimental workshops, participants engaged in collaborative projects and social artistic interactions, all within a shared heritage environment. This provided a unique opportunity to not only explore new artistic techniques but also dive deep into the local culture and identity, working closely with renowned artists, educators, and the local community.
The diversity of artistic approaches and perspectives enriched the experience, broadening our understanding of sculpture and deepening our appreciation for the power of collective artistic processes. By the end of the camp, the interactions and collaborations fostered a strong sense of community, leaving us with lasting professional and personal connections—an experience that will continue to shape our future creative journeys.
YES Masterclass #3 in Kuldīga was more than just a workshop; it was a creative journey that amplified voices, challenged norms, and built a lasting community.
